This morning, despite a fire alarm delaying the press conference, Labour Leader Andrew Little announced Labour’s caucus line-up for the next year. Annette King is taking position as Deputy Leader for 2015, while retaining her health portfolio. Little plans for the current line-up to be in place for a year, at the end of which Labour will conduct a review to determine the line-up for the 2017 election.

Grant Robertson was placed at number 3, taking over the role of Finance Spokesperson. Although Robertson, like some preceding Labour finance spokespeople and ministers, does not have a background in finance, Little referred to Robertson as “one of the intellectual powerhouses of our caucus”. He will be assisted in the role by David Clark.

The full caucus line-up is available here.

Other topics discussed included Iain Rennie and Andrew Kibblewhite’s role in Roger Sutton’s press conference, and upcoming legislation on passport suspension.
