Animal Welfare Bill Set To Pass

New animal welfare legislation is set to pass into law this afternoon,

After Question Time, MPs are due to compete the interrupted second reading of the Human Rights Amendment Bill with just one speech remaining.

This will be followed by the interrupted third reading debate on the Animal Welfare Amendment Bill which is generally supported though some parties believe it does not go far enough to crack down on cruelty to animals.

After this is the second reading of the Social Assistance (Portability to Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau) Bill and first reading of the New Zealand Business Number Bill.
