Magna Carta Motion Passed

A motion marking the 800th anniversary of Magna Court was passed when Parliament resumed at 2pm.

ACT MP David Seymour moved the motion and he said Magna Carta marked the start of democratic rights, the rule of law and due process in modern democracies. The motion was passed on a voice vote.

A number of petitions were presented including one asked the House to urge the Government to make extra payments to former residents of Christchurch rest home for their losses and another asking steps to be taken to stop ACC discrimination against non-workers exposed to asbestos.

Electoral Commission report on the Northland By-Election 2015

Statement of Performance Expectations of the Independent Police Conduct Authority, 2015/16

National Civil Defence Emergency Management Plan Order 2014

The Auditor-General’s report Reflections from our audits: Service delivery was presented.

Select Committee reports were presented on the:

Controller and Auditor-General, Draft Annual Plan 2015/16 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee
