National Dip, Labour Lift
Support for Labour has lifted seemingly at National’s
expense in the latest Roy Morgan poll.
The poll taken between June 29 and July 12 comes before Labour released data about real estate purchases and people with Chinese names.
During the period support for National fell 6.5 points to 43%, Labour’s support was at 32% (up 6 points to the highest since March 2014). The Greens were unchanged on 13%, NZ First 7% (up 0.5%), Maori Party up 0.5% to 1.5% while support for ACT is 0.5% (down 0.5%) and United Future 0% (unchanged).
The poll recorded a drop in confidence in the Government coinciding with gloomy economic indicators and concerns locally and internationally. However a narrow majority of people felt the country was heading in the right direction.
The Conservative Party after its high profile trouble was at 1.5% (up 0.5%).
