Estimates Debate To Continue Next Week

The Government will continue with the Estimates Debate when the House sits next week.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said in the Business Statement the House would give priority to the eight hours and 50 minutes left in the committee stage of the Appropriation (2015/16 Estimates) Bill. The Government would also seek to make progress on the New Zealand Flag Referendums Bill.

Mr Brownlee indicated the Estimates Debate would be interrupted to deal with other Government Bills.

MPs passed on a voice vote a motion marking the 150th anniversary of Wellington being the Capital of New Zealand

The New Zealand Maori Arts & Crafts Institute (trading as Te Puia), Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2015 was presented as were the Statement of Intent 2015/16 - 2018/19 and Statement of Performance Expectations 2015-2016 of the Tertiary Education Committee.

The Report from the Controller and Auditor-General, Inland Revenue Department: Governance of the Business Transformation programme by the Finance and Expenditure Committee was presented.

Parental Leave and Employment Protection (Six Months’ Paid Leave and Work Contact Hours) Amendment Bill

Education (Charter Schools Curriculum) Amendment Bill

Social Workers Registration (Mandatory Registration) Amendment Bill

Official Information (Parliamentary Under-Secretaries) Amendment Bill
