Offshore Tax Bill To Get Priority

A bill on the taxation of offshore people buying residential houses in New Zealand will be given priority when Parliament next sits.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said in the Business Statement the House would not sit next week and when it resumed on September 8 the Government would seek to make progress on the number of bills including the Taxation (Land Information and Offshore Persons Information) Bill and the Passports Amendment Bill (No 2).

The annual report of the Judicial Conduct Commissioner was presented and MPs began Question Time.
