End of Life Choice Bill Sent To Select Committee

The End of Life Choice Bill in the name of David Seymour has completed its first reading debate and been sent to a select committee for consideration.

This bill proposes giving “people with a terminal illness or a grievous and irremediable medical condition the option of requesting assisted dying".

There was a personal vote and the Ayes were 76, Noes 44 with no abstentions.

A personal vote on a motion that the Justice Committee report back the Bill nine months from today was approved by 61 to 39 with no abstentions.
