An Australian cruise ship passenger has been deported this
morning after he was refused entry to Dunedin because he
didn't meet character requirements.
The 59-year-old man
was a passenger aboard the Radiance of the Seas cruise
ship.
He was taken into custody at Port Otago yesterday
and Immigration New Zealand has confirmed he was held
overnight before being put on a flight back to
Australia.
Immigration officials haven't specified which
character requirements the man failed to meet.
They said
more than 13 people have been refused entry to this country
when arriving by sea, since July
2015.
