Search Bill Amendments To Be Debated

MPs will this evening go through the detail of the controversial Search and Surveillance Bill.

Earlier this week Justice Minister Judith Collins distributed proposed amendments in a Supplementary Order Paper ahead of today’s committee stage consideration of the bill.

Last week the bill completed its second reading with support from National, ACT and United Future.

Labour took issue with parts of the bill and MPs said they would reserve judgement until they had time to consider the SOP.

Before the debate takes place MPs will, after Question Time and the General Debate, complete the first reading of the Financial Markets Conduct Bill and the third reading of the Building Amendment Bill (No 3).
