Govt Confirms TICS Bill As Priority

The Government will seek to pass telecommunication interceptions legislation next week, MPs were told today.

Deputy Leader of the House Anne Tolley said the Government would give priority to the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Bill, Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Bill and the Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill.

Parliament would sit on Wednesday morning to consider a number of treaty settlements bills and it would also be a Members Day later on.

Annual reports were presented from Housing NZ, Inland Revenue, Judicial Conduct Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Women’s Affairs.

Briefing on policing and prisons in Canterbury by the Law and Order Committee

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General, Annual Plan 2013/14 by the Finance and Expenditure Committee
