Govt’s Priorities Next Week

Legislation dealing with the administration of MPs pay, health and safety, and the convention centre deal will be given priority next week.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said when the House sits next week the Government would give priority to the Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Bill, Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill and the New Zealand International Convention Centre Bill.

Wednesday is Members Day.

A petition was presented requesting the House make it the importation of body parts for transplant illegal for and express its condemnation of China’s treatment of the Falun Gong.

The annual reports of the Children’s Commissioner and the Transport Accident Investigation Commission were presented.

The Waitangi National Trust Board Amendment Bill was introduced.

MPs began Question Time.
