Tax Bill To Be Given Priority

When the House sits next week the Government will give priority to taxation legislation, MPs were told today.

The acting Leader of the House Chris Finlayson said in the Business Statement the Government would make progress on the Taxation (Annual Rates, Employee Allowances, and Remedial Matters) Bill and a number of other bills including the Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Bill (No 3) and the Food Bill.

Wednesday will be a Members Day.

The Auditor General’s report “Health sector: Results of the 2012/13 audits” was presented.

The Social Services Committee’s report on the Petition 2011/38 of Dina Awarau and 186 others on behalf of Pomare community group, Petition 2011/39 of Michelle Ratima and 620 others, and Petition 2011/40 of Mary Utanga and 270 others concerning redevelopment projects being carried out by Housing New Zealand was presented.

MPs began Question Time.
