Standards Reform And Police Bills

The Govt intends to hold the first reading debates of two police and crime related bills as well as a standards regulatory reform bill when the House resumes today.

After Question Time MPs will debate for the first time the Standards and Accreditation Bill which reforms the law relating to the standards and accreditation bodies regime. This will be followed by the Policing (Cost Recovery) Amendment Bill and the Organised Crime and Anti-corruption Legislation Bill’s first readings.

Next on the Order Paper is the interrupted third reading of the Trade (Safeguard Measures) Bill.

On Wednesday the House will sit at 9am under extended hours provisions to deal with the first readings the Te Kawerau ā Maki Claims Settlement Bill, Te Hiku Claims Settlement Bill, and the Hawke's Bay Regional Planning Committee Bill.
