Rangitikei Re-Count A Non Event

- The National Party’s Rangitikei candidate Simon Power is going to parliament after the Rangitikei re-count diminished his lead over Labour's Craig Walsham from 293 to 289 votes. The re-count was requested by ACT after 120 votes went wissing from the seat. ACT said the re-count was necessary to maintain the integrity of the ballot. Police are investigating the missing votes but do not suspect theft.
