EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS BILL: National is promising to make Industrial Relations law a defining issue at the next election. National plans to go into the election with clear plans for law reform.

GOLDIE THEFT: Police are viewing security tape from Auckland Museum in an effort to catch a glimpse of the stealer of a small Goldie painting.

JAKARTA BOMB: The Phillipines ambassador in Jakarta has been injured in a bomb blast. Islamic separatists are suspected of being responsible.

FIJI STRIKE: Fiji’s public service commission is warning civil servants not to take part in a protest ordered by the Fiji Trade Union Federation today. Meanwhile the Coup leader has had a number of charges laid against him.

CONCORDE: French Civil Aviation Authorities have been unable to work out new rules for the operation of the Concorde meaning French Concordes remain grounded.

CANCER INQUIRY: The current owner of the laboratory at the centre of the of the Gisborne Cancer Inquiry says the inquiry is running out of time to look at prevention issues for the future.

HEALTH LEGISLATION: Health Minister Annette King will this morning table legislation for locally elected health boards. The legislation contains extensive provisions to give Maori a say in their health services.

WOMEN’S SOFTBALL TEAM: The NZ women’s Softball Team has lost a tour to Japan three nil.
