A Sad Day For Parliament
"It's a sad day for Parliament whenever a Minister is removed from office," National's Maori Affairs Spokesperson Georgina te Heuheu said today.
"It's also a sad day for Maori, because that Minister happened to be a Maori.
"And it's sad that the Prime Minister had to wait for the weight of public opinion to turn before she acted.
"If the Prime Minister had shown more leadership from the start, it might not have come to this.
"We all must remember that amidst all of the allegations there are real families and real people involved," Georgina te Heuheu said.
