Kids Win from Self-Regulation in Broadcasting
Wednesday 28th Mar 2001 Penny Webster Media Release -- Other
Guidelines released on advertising during television programmes for children show that self regulation can work, Penny Webster, ACT Broadcasting spokesman, said today.
“The parties involved should be congratulated for taking a socially responsible approach to this issue.
“It proves something that ACT has argued for years: people involved in an industry can get together without regulation and come up with acceptable codes.
“I hope the Government recognises that fact and keeps a hands-off approach themselves," Penny Webster said.
