BROWN CALLS FOR GREATER CONSULTATION ON AVIATION
BILL
“New Zealand First Deputy Leader Peter Brown urges the Minister to put the Civil Aviation Amendment Bill (No.2) on hold to allow meaningful consultation to occur.
“The Bill deals with concerns over air pilots’ medicals and the powers the Director of Civil Aviation Authority has in such regard.
“It is clear that adequate consultation has not been conducted. New Zealand First will not support the Bill as it stands as it fails to fairly and adequately deal with the concerns being raised, said Mr Brown.
“If the Government was to allow genuine consultation I am sure that an amended bill would gain wider parliamentary support”, concluded Mr Brown.
