Award For Innovative Company

An Enterprise Award from Industry New Zealand will help an Auckland company to develop seatbelts designed for use in construction-site vehicles such as diggers and tractors.

Getting operators of tractors and industrial vehicles to wear a selt-belt has been an objective, and Springbelt Concept Ltd is developing a product that will overcome operator reluctance.

Corrections Minister and Alliance MP Matt Robson will visit Springbelt Concept on Friday to present the Enterprise Award, worth nearly $8000.

Springbelt Concepts is a new company. Managing Director Don Wilkinson has 42 years of experience in construction, roading, drainage and related industries.

The product is being marketed to Japan, Australia and the USA.
