An Enterprise Award from Industry New Zealand will help an
Auckland company to develop seatbelts designed for use in
construction-site vehicles such as diggers and
tractors.
Getting operators of tractors and industrial
vehicles to wear a selt-belt has been an objective, and
Springbelt Concept Ltd is developing a product that will
overcome operator reluctance.
Corrections Minister and
Alliance MP Matt Robson will visit Springbelt Concept on
Friday to present the Enterprise Award, worth nearly
$8000.
Springbelt Concepts is a new company. Managing
Director Don Wilkinson has 42 years of experience in
construction, roading, drainage and related
industries.
The product is being marketed to Japan,
Australia and the
USA.

Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
