Key Relationship in Aviation Industry Breaks Down |
||
The widening gulf between the Civil Aviation Authority and the industry it is supposed to serve is disturbing, ACT Transport Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today.
"The review by Pricewaterhouse Coopers and two international aviation consultants expressing concern at the number of accidents among small aircraft operators is one example of this gulf. "Another example is the sordid saga surrounding pilots' medical certificates. The CAA and those in the industry finally communicated at the behest of the Select Committee looking into this issue. However, that should have been happening as a matter of course.
"The report is a sharp reminder to the CAA . They should be working with the industry to solve this problem before it becomes even worse," Penny Webster said.
