Duncan MacIntyre’s Death a Sad Loss

New Zealand First Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters, has expressed his regrets at the passing of former Deputy Prime Minister and Maori Affairs Minister Duncan MacIntyre.

“Mr. MacIntyre was a hero, a leader and a gentleman. He was much honoured by both Maori and Europeans alike, firstly as a war hero and secondly as an outstanding statesman and public servant,” said Mr Peters.

“I served with him from 1978 to 1981and found him to be honest and dedicated in service of his country and he will be sadly missed.

“ My thoughts and condolences and those of the New Zealand First party go to his family at this time.
