Press Release: New Zealand Government
|
Health Minister Annette King is today opening a Water
Fluoridation Forum at 11.30am at Portland Towers, cnr
Hawkestone Street and Portland Cres, Wellington.
The
forum, convened by the Ministry of Health, is being attended
by representatives from across the dental health sector, and
is designed to develop strategies to protect those
communities who have fluoridated water supplies, and to
encourage other communities to fluoridate their
supplies.
Mrs King will tell the forum that the issue is
among the most controversial she has tackled since becoming
Minister, but it is such an important one, especially for
the health of New Zealand children, that she will not back
away from
it.
