Key health contracts devolved to district health boards

Health Minister Annette King, Capital and Coast District Health Board chair Bob Henare and Ministry of Health officials will take part in a small ceremony today at 3.30pm to mark the devolution from the Ministry of Health to district health boards of a number of key health contracts.

From today, in the next stage of the development of a new public health system, DHBs will take over responsibility for funding and managing most contracts for personal health, Maori health, mental health and some Pacific health services.
