Four New Lay Members Of The High Court Appointed

Attorney-General Margaret Wilson announced today the
appointment of four new lay members of the High Court under
the Commerce Act.
They are Kerrin Vautier from Auckland,
Henry Ergas from the Australian Capital Territory, Professor
Martin Richardson from Dunedin, and Michael Copeland from
Wellington.
The appointees join Professor Lewis Evans from
Wellington whose term has been renewed.
Lay members assist
the Court in cases involving appeals from decisions of the
Commerce Commission and in other matters under the Commerce
Act.
