ENZA's Commercial Shareholders Must Show Goodwill |
||
Fri, 6 Jul 2001
Apple-growers could avoid unnecessary agony and expensive litigation if ENZA's two commercial shareholders would answer orchardists' questions and sit around the table to resolve the current dilemma, ACT MP Owen Jennings says.
"While some finer points of the argument are complex and may need to be resolved legally, there's no reason why the parties can't meet in a spirit of goodwill and resolve the issues to everyone's advantage," Mr Jennings said.
"The only missing ingredient is the goodwill of the two commercial players, GPG and FR and Partners. I encourage them to make every effort to find a negotiated outcome as soon as possible.
"Orcharding families are under huge stress and need to know as quickly as possible what the outcome of such discussions would be. The only human and decent response for the two commercial players is to begin talking directly to all the affected parties."
