Press Release: New Zealand National Party
Max Bradford National Foreign Affairs Spokesperson
31
July 2001
National's Foreign Affairs spokesperson Max
Bradford tonight welcomed the $10 million in aid for East
Timor over the next four years.
"It's only a drop in the
bucket of what is needed in the territory, but National
believes it's certainly a step in the right direction.
"The New Zealand Government must now ensure that the
money will be used for the intended projects which focus on
basic education, social and natural resource development,
and governance. It must not be drained off in other
directions," Mr Bradford said.
