Appointment of Judge of the Court of Appeal
Attorney-General Margaret Wilson today announced the appointment of Hon Noel Anderson, of Auckland, to be a judge of the Court of Appeal. The appointment will take effect on 13 September 2001.
Justice Anderson was appointed to the High Court in 1987 and has been a resident Judge in Auckland for the last 10 years. Prior to that he presided for four years in the High Court in Hamilton.
He became Senior Judge in Auckland three years ago and was appointed Executive Judge in August 2000.
Justice Anderson was admitted to the Bar in 1967 and was a principal of the firm McKegg and Adams-Smith. He commenced practice as a barrister sole in 1972. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1986.
