PM returns to NZ

Prime Minister Helen Clark will be returning to New Zealand from Australia aboard an RNZAF Orion this evening, acting Prime Minister Jim Anderton announced today.

Industrial action by Ansett employees prevented the departure from Melbourne of the Air New Zealand aircraft on which Helen Clark and her party were scheduled to return home.

Helen Clark left Melbourne by police helicopter and has travelled to the Sale RAAF base, and is departing from there by RNZAF Orion. Helen Clark is scheduled to arrive at Whenuapai between 10.30 pm and 11 pm.
