Bathgate-gate: Time for Triple Dipper to Go |
||
Thursday 1 Nov 2001 Rodney Hide Press Releases -- Governance & Constitution
Triple-dipper Susan Bathgate must resign, ACT MP Rodney Hide said today.
"Ms Bathgate's own Minister refuses to express any confidence in her. It's time for Margaret Wilson's special appointment to realise that it's time to say goodbye to her three pay packets.
"Nobody appearing before Ms Bathgate at the Employment Relations Authority, the Social Security Appeal Authority or the Complaints Review Tribunal can have an ounce of faith in her.
"She can't judge others when she's been caught out so badly herself.
"The Solicitor General and now the Governor General are both probing Ms Bathgate's seemingly inappropriate behaviour. She has to step down, at least until those investigations are completed. Things are getting incredibly serious for the triple-dipper," Mr Hide said.
