National welcomes the Auditor General's report into the New
Zealand Defence Force deployment into East Timor but it
raises issues that need further investigation, National
Defence spokesperson Max Bradford said today.
"It contains
a series of recommendations that need full investigation and
these include the comments made about a lack of intelligence
available to New Zealand.
"I will be seeking an inquiry by
the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee into the
report so that we can get behind some of the recommendations
made," Mr Bradford said.
