23 January 2002
The Auckland region has lost a forthright and fearless advocate with the death of Auckland Regional Council chair Philip Warren, National's spokesperson on Auckland Issues Murray McCully said today.
"Phil Warren has served the region with great distinction in a variety of roles over many years. In recent times he has played a huge role in seeing the region confront it's substantial infrastructure problems with a unified voice.
"He earned the huge respect of all he dealt with for his forthright and fearless advocacy for the region," Mr McCully said.
