Cullen’s Australia Trip

Finance Minister Michael Cullen will visit Melbourne and Sydney on March 6 and 7.

He will meet with Federal Treasurer Peter Costello. After the meeting the two ministers will release a discussion paper on triangular tax.

Dr Cullen also has meetings scheduled with the Reserve Bank Governor, Ian Macfarlane, New South Wales Treasurer Michael Egan, National Australia Bank CEO Frank Cicutto, and the chairman of the Australian Stock Exchange, Maurice Newman.

In Melbourne, Dr Cullen will brief an International CEO Forum hosted by the Economist Intelligence Unit. In Sydney he will address a Trans Tasman Business Circle luncheon on the New Zealand economy. Copies of this speech will be circulated in New Zealand.

Dr Cullen also has a large number of media interviews organised during his two day visit. He will be accompanied by his economic adviser, Peter Harris.
