Helen Clark said today that putting her name to a
painting that she didn’t do was an error of judgement she
deeply regrets and for which she apologises.
said that at the time she was trying to be helpful to a
charity. She said she always learns from her mistakes and
will not be making this one again.
“Politicians are under
a lot of pressure to be helpful to many good causes, and to
my certain knowledge, I am far from being the only MP to
have been assisted with a contribution of this kind. It
should be a salutary lesson to all,” Helen Clark
