Kedgley Welcomes Wellington Hospital Decision
1 May 2002
Wellington Green MP Sue Kedgley today congratulated Health Minister Annette King on the Government's decision to build a new hospital in Newtown, Wellington.
"It has been two and a half years since National Minister of Health Wyatt Creech chose the Newtown site for a new hospital and the Greens are pleased and relieved that finally the green light has been given," said Ms Kedgley.
"This decision is excellent news for Wellingtonians and for people in the lower North Island. The condition of Wellington hospital has been an absolute disgrace for far too long and we welcome this Government doing something about it."
