PM to Present Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards
2003 Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards to be presented
Prime Minister Helen Clark and Associate Education (Tertiary Education) Minister Steve Maharey are presenting the 2003 Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards at Parliament on Monday evening (23 June 2003).
The Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards were established in 2002 to recognise excellence in tertiary teaching, promote good teaching practice and enhance career development for tertiary teachers.
There are nine $20,000 awards across three categories, as well as a $30,000 supreme Prime Ministers’ award. Award winners can use the prize money to enhance their teaching career and promote best practice amongst their colleagues.
Thirty-three nominations for the 2003 awards were received from universities, polytechnics, wananga, colleges of education and private training establishments.
The awards will be presented at an awards dinner at Parliament on Monday evening. Award winners will be present at the dinner.
