Dunne on Oz-US FTA
United Future leader
Peter Dunne commented today "If the detail of the FTA
between Canberra and Washington is as reported, then it
demonstrates that the USA is still unwilling to make an
honest commitment to the principles of free trade.
“For
example, the 18 year lead-in time for free trade in beef
products shows how tenuous the United States' commitment
is.
"If the US-Australia free trade agreement sets the
benchmark, then it bodes ill for any future negotiations
between New Zealand and the United States, whatever the
political differences might
be."
