18 February 2004 Media Statement

Budget 2004 will be delivered on Thursday, 27 May, Finance Minister Michael Cullen announced today.

The budget will be Dr Cullen’s fifth and will demonstrate the government’s continuing commitment to leadership and partnership, growth and innovation, fairness and security, opportunity for all and to strong public services.

It will feature a substantial assistance programme to support low to middle income families to move into and stay in work, measures to assist the export sector to develop new overseas markets and will expand the government’s
investment in health and education.
