Peters Challenges Brash To Tv Debate
Rt Hon Winston Peters has offered to appear on TVNZ’s Holmes show with National leader Don Brash tonight to debate the major political issues facing New Zealand.
Mr Peters said that it would be a win-win situation for both TVNZ and Dr Brash because the show would attract a bigger audience and it would overcome problems of lack of balance and fairness.
“As Dr Brash and TVNZ are very keen on a public debate, and the Prime Minister is unavailable, I would be pleased to face the National leader on the Holmes Show to discuss subjects of major importance.
“Of particular interest are race relations, health and education funding, superannuation, immigration and National’s record on Treaty of Waitangi issues.
“I’m only a phone call away,” said Mr
Peters.
