Support ‘Our Heros' Trust
New Zealand First veteran’s
affairs spokesperson Bill Gudgeon is calling on all MP’s and
the public to support the ‘Our Hero’s’ trust setup to help
send another 75 Monte Cassino veterans to the 60th
anniversary celebrations.
“I pledge $50 and call on all
other MP’s to do the same,” said Mr Gudgeon.
“Many of
these men are in their 80’s and this may well be their last
opportunity to go to a celebration of this kind.
People
can donate money at any BNZ bank branch or make an automatic
$20 donation by phoning 0900heros.
“Let’s honour our men
who fought so bravely and help them get to Italy to
commemorate the sacrifices they made,” said Mr
Gudgeon.

Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
