Right Hand Side Liberalism
Thursday 13 May 2004 Richard Prebble Press Releases -- Other
ACT leader Richard Prebble said today that the ACT party welcomed the formation of a `Classical Liberal Policy Advisory Group' by the National party.
"It is yet another sign of how ACT has influenced the policy positions of other parties."
Mr Prebble expressed some surprise in the choice of topics for the policy seminars that are planned to be held by the new group.
"Classical Liberals support private property rights, freedom to contract as well as free-speech. Property rights do not appear on the list of topics but there is to be a seminar on `Thinking outside the square on road safety'. Not even the ACT party has been prepared to advocate that being a classic Liberal gives you the choice of driving on the right side of the road. "
