TVNZ spending out of control
TVNZ needs to
front up to its critics and explain its unprecedented level
of expenditure on foreign news, which is already available
to the taxpayer, says National's Broadcasting spokeswoman
Georgina te Heuheu
Mrs te Heuheu is commenting to reports
today that TVNZ have but in a bid for $1.3 million to
acquire ABC and 20/20, both of which are already available
to viewers on TV3.
"This is just more evidence that TVNZ
has become an out-of-control monster that will spend any
amount of taxpayers' money and do anything to squash the
competition for advertising dollars," says Mrs te
Heuheu.
