What Does "At This Point" Mean? - Peters
Rt Hon Winston Peters has asked Don Brash to publicly explain what he means when he says he would not change New Zealand’s nuclear free legislation “at this point”.
The National Party leader made the comments on Morning Report this morning and Mr Peters said all New Zealanders should be concerned at the equivocation.
“Dr Brash is going to Washington this week to talk to American politicians without any Foreign Affairs officials present. It does not require any great thinking effort to realise that he will be discussing New Zealand’s nuclear policy without any restraints.
“The last time he
spoke to the Americans Dr Brash said he would scrap the
nuclear policy ‘by lunchtime’ and he should now be required
to explain what ‘at this point’ means in the context of his
talks in Washington,” said Mr
Peters.
