MPs delighted at green light on Auckland roading
United Future MPs Larry Baldock and Bernie Ogilvy today welcomed the green light for two key links in Auckland's Western ring route.
"This another big step towards remedying Auckland's chronic roading problems, and has the full support of United Future," Mr Baldock, the transport spokesman, and Mr Ogilvy, an Auckland MP, said. The two projects are: The state highway 20 Mt Roskill extension.
A $152 million project to build a four km predominantly four-lane motorway linking SH20/Queenstown Road with Maioro Street and Sandringham Road. The extension of SH20 in Manukau to SH1. A $157 project to build four km of four-lane motorway from SH1 at Manukau City and the SH20 Puhinui interchange. "This is about spending money gathered from roads on roads, and it is the way it should be done," they said.
