Tamihere in daring sea rescue!

On Saturday, July 24, Tamaki Makaurau MP and Cabinet Minister John Tamihere will be dropped from a helicopter winch and then plucked from the ocean by Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust.

Mr Tamihere will be participating in the sea rescue to help demonstrate helicopter hoist/winch rescue techniques as part of the inaugural Helicopter Hoist Operators Safety Conference in Auckland, which will be attended by search and rescue, police and military from Australia and New Zealand.

Media are invited to attend the rescue, which will begin at the Mechanics Bay helipad at approximately 8am on Saturday.
