Parole Board At It Again
New Zealand First Law and Order spokesperson Ron Mark is demanding that the Crown Law Office advice regarding Parole Board decisions involving Dr David Chaplow be made public and those responsible for allowing his involvement be brought to account.
“This report must be made public as the consequent decision made by the board regarding who is to be re-heard raises further questions,” said Mr Mark.
“Why are offenders who were freed from prison not being considered for re-hearing while many of those who missed out on release are getting a second chance at freedom?
“Helen Clark came to office with the promise of a new era of public accountability and it is about time the Parole Board honoured her promise,” concluded Mr Mark.
