Ken Shirley - Press Releases - Other
National MP Clem Simich's troubles grow every week, ACT New Zealand Tamaki candidate Ken Shirley said today.
"It is clear the National Party is going to have a very contentious selection process with three challenges to the sitting member," Mr Shirley said.
"I cannot recall a previous situation where a sitting member has confronted this level of challenge from within his own Party.
"At the last election, I increased my constituency vote massively when I campaigned strictly for the Party vote only. This is a clear indication of the level of dissatisfaction with the incumbent.
"Tamaki is one of ACT's best two electorate seats. It is my intention to mount a very vigorous campaign. A vote for Ken Shirley in Tamaki is the best way of ensuring that the policies espoused by National Leader Don Brash are implemented," Mr Shirley said.
