Zaoui should let Inspector-General decide now
Ahmed
Zaoui should cease his serial legal action and end this
nightmare
for the New Zealand taxpayer, says National's
Immigration spokesman, Tony
Ryall.
"Mr Zaoui should now
leave it for the Inspector-General of Security to
decide
whether or not he poses a security risk to this
country."
Zaoui has been convicted by Belgium for associations with terrorists.
He is the only person in
New Zealand to have been subject to a National
Security
Certificate.
"The law is clear - we do not have to accept
refugees who have such
convictions. No amount of legal
hop-scotch can deny that," says Mr
Ryall.
"We can't let
this madness continue. Mr Zaoui has clogged up our
legal
system for long enough - it's time to let the
Inspector-General do his job
without any further action
from Mr
Zaoui".
