Acting Prime Minister Michael Cullen today welcomed John Tamihere’s decision to take leave from his ministerial duties pending investigation into allegations concerning his exit payment from the Waipareira Trust.

“Draft terms of reference for the independent inquiry have been drawn up by officials for consideration by the Cabinet on Monday.

“Following consultation with the Prime Minister, I have put in place the following arrangements for Acting Ministers:

Youth Affairs: Rick Barker; Land Information: Paul Swain; Statistics: Michael Cullen; Small Business: Pete Hodgson.”
