1 November 2004 Media Advisory
Stepping out for Push Play Day
Sport and Recreation Minister Trevor
Mallard's team of seven Labour MPs is up against seven
political journalists representing a range of media
organisations, to see who takes the most steps in the week
leading up to national Push Play Day on November 5.
To see how the two teams measure up, Trevor Mallard will be comparing pedometers with Press gallery team member Barry Soper (Newstalk ZB) at the bottom of the Beehive stairwell today, mid-way through the week-long challenge.
The pair will then head up the stairs to demonstrate how the competition is going - participants are encouraged to take the stairs rather than the lift, or walk to a colleague in a neighbouring office to discuss something, rather than picking up the phone or sending an email.
Media and photographers are invited to come along.
When: 1.15pm,
Monday 1 November
Where: Meet in the ground floor Beehive
foyer
