Franks Welcomes Blumsky's Wgtn Central Bid
Monday 15 Nov 2004 Stephen Franks Press Releases -- Other
ACT New Zealand Wellington Central-based MP Stephen Franks today welcomed National's signal that it will be putting up a very strong fight to end Labour's hegemony in the Wellington region.
"Former Wellington Mayor, Mark Blumsky, is likely to appeal to many who previously voted for sitting Labour MP Marion Hobbs.
"Wellington's Labour MPs are mainly sleep walkers in Parliament - think for example their idling over Transmission Gully. They've been helped by the cosy cooperation of Peter Dunne.
"Now I'm looking foward to the real choice voters will have in Wellington Central between myself, Mr Blumsky and the status quo," Mr Franks said.
